British Airways has been fined £20 million for the data breach in 2018 that affected 500,000 customers.
The ICO had originally levied a fine of £183 million but said it has been reduced to take COVID-19 into account. It is still the largest fine levied by the ICO, and may signpost the trend for future data breaches and other infringements of data protection law.
