Twitter can remotely lock laptops, can you?

I am reading about the lay-offs of so many Twitter staff, and how some of them only found out when they were remotely logged out of email and their laptops were locked or wiped.

Focussing on a technical point, it was clearly important that Twitter had the ability to remotely control the laptops of their staff, but that is important for us too.

Imagine that a device (laptop, smartphone, tablet) is lost or stolen – are you able to remotely find it, lock it or wipe it? Some devices come with these abilities built-in (often called MDM or Mobile Device Management) and if not, software/app solutions exist.

We would encourage you to check that you have these facilities, enable them, and then test them once in a while.
