Gloucester museum still suffering from cyber attack in 2021

A BBC report at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-64917275 highlights the problems that are still affecting Gloucester City Council after a malicious email led to a cyber attack in December 2021.

Whilst other systems were eventually restored, Gloucester Museum’s database of exhibits is still unavailable.

What can we all learn? Well, apart from becoming more aware of the risks of cyber attacks, and training our staff to look out for the signs, we all ought to make sure we have effective backup systems in place, and test them occasionally.

If you have questions about your backups, don’t forget you can ask them at this Friday’s webinar; registration is free and the link you need is https://zorva.info/free-webinars/
