We have mentioned that the NCSC offers free online training, such as at https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/blog-post/ncsc-cyber-security-training-for-staff-now-available, but having spoken with a few charities recently, some were not aware that they can often get free introductory training from two other sources.
The first is their insurers; they will often offer free cyber security training as a benefit of taking their cyber insurance. The company we use has a range of short courses.
Secondly, many charities subscribe to an HR service, which often includes online training on a range of topics including data protection. These courses are not charity-specific, but can play a part in your induction and refresher training, before you focus on more specific training on higher risk areas.
It’s worth having a look at what your insurer and HR provider can offer, and of course we can help with the more specific training too.
