Google has announced that its BARD competitor to ChatGPT is being incorporated into its core search engine, where it will craft response to open-ended queries.
This will initially be limited to some users in an experimental mode, but it surely signposts the way things are heading.
BARD will become more available in the coming months, and will be able to respond with images as well as text.
I do wonder if we always want AI to be involved in our searches though? Sometimes, we might just want to find specific information or a website without AI trying to interpret what we mean. I guess the parallel is with Alexa, where if you ask for music by a certain artist, it now gives you that and other ‘similar artists’.
