More and more people are using NAS devices (Network Attached Storage), effectively large disk arrays connected to your network which can also offer remote access and other services.
Synology is a significant player across the whole range (we use them here), but this week they have announced that in future they will only allow validated disks to be used in their enterprise NAS devices, and coincidentally the only validated disks over 4TB are made by … Synology!
