The ICO has issued an indication of when it hopes to publish guidance across several areas affected by the new legislation.
Currently the guidance for charity soft opt-in is likely to be much later this year, but we hope that lobbying will bring this forward. We will certainly keep you updated, even throughout the summer break, with any news.
A few people have asked if the new law will replace the UK GDPR, and the answer is no. It does not replace UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 or the PECR regulations, but just amends them. That’s good news for all our policies that reference the legislation.
