In case you haven’t heard of the term, ‘robocall’ describes a situation where a computer generated autodialler is used to deliver a pre-recorded message sounding like a robot.
However, Generative AI now allows these calls to sound like a human voice, and even that of a celebrity or political candidate. The US has banned just banned these calls, over concerns they are being used to misinform voters and extort money from vulnerable adults.
