We receive a number of scam phone calls, as I am sure you do too. But recently we have noticed a couple of changes in a number of them.
- Firstly, when we terminate a call from a particular number, within a few minutes another call comes in, from a very similar number. It is as though a system is recalling automatically.
- Secondly, a few have a programmed voice saying ‘This call is being recorded’ before anyone speaks. Perhaps the reason is to encourage people to think the call is more official than it is.
The way of dealing with scam calls is generally the same, but it is interesting that the scammers are evolving their practices.
