The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) offers a large range of free guides and other resources for charities of all sizes.
We find their Small Business/Charity Guide particularly helpful when talking to small and medium sized charities about cybersecurity, and you can find it at https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/small-business-guide.
The section on keep your smartphones and tablets safe is worth particular attention and it deals with
- Password protection
- Making sure lost and stolen devices can be tracked, locked or wiped
- Keeping your device up to date
- Keeping your apps up to date
- Guidance about connecting to unknown Wi-Fi Hotpots (i.e. don’t!)
We encourage you to consider this in your regular cybersecurity review, training, and awareness programmes.
