This came up in conversation last week, and it reminded us that the Chartered Institute of Fundraising recently called for charities to sign its Donor Code of Conduct Pledge, committing themselves to develop and implement a Donor Code of Conduct that will safeguard fundraisers from inappropriate donor or supporter behaviour.
This comes after research suggested that more than 50% of fundraisers have experienced behaviour by a donor or supporter that made them feel physically or mentally unsafe.
We would encourage you to consider this for your organisation and you can find out more at https://ciof.org.uk/news-policy-and-research/latest-news/ciof-calls-for-charities-to-sign-donor-code-of-conduct-pledge/.
