Update on UK GDPR changes

You may recall that the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill was paused in September, and at the Conservative Party Conference it was announced that there would be a new “business and consumer-friendly, British data protection system”.

At last week’s DPC22 Data Protection conference in Brussels, the DCMS confirmed that the UK Government is in fact currently working on identifying possible improvements to the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill ,as opposed to starting the process all over again.

We will wait and see what is proposed, and of course I will keep you up to date in the insight newsletters, and with a webinar once the details and implications of any changes are clear.
