Contactless donations increasing

So just the normal warning that we are talking about Give a Little, which is a commercial company. We have no connection with them, and other contactless platforms are available.

Having said that, they have just released some very interesting insights, which could well inform conversations in your charity. We will leave you to read their blog at https://givealittle.co/news/2022-in-review-an-impactful-year-for-the-give-a-little-community but two figures that caught our eye, were that the average contactless donation was £9.69 and more than £500,000 of Gift Aid was claimed.

I hope that you have a contactless strategy, and are benefiting from it as:

  • We move to more in-person events
  • Fewer people are carrying cash
  • People are used to using contactless
  • Donation values tend to be higher than cash is/was
