It’s ‘Holiday phishing scam’ time of year

The good news is that for many, we are approaching holiday time. The bad news is that, for the same reason, the incidence of phishing emails tends to rise at this time of year.

It may be that your staff are trained to recognise and respond to phishing emails and texts, but perhaps they are away and their role is being covered by someone not so experienced or well-trained. Couple this with the fact that many phishing messages imply authority and urgency, and the risks are higher.

The NCSC has many helpful free resources, including guidance on how to spot phishing attempts, and you can see it at https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/collection/phishing-scams/spot-scams. Why not make sure all your staff are familiar with the simple guidance, and know what to do when they receive a suspect message?
