Cancer Research to lose £300 million over three years

Cancer Research UK expects its income to drop by £160 million this year, and to lose £300 million over the next three years.

In a blog entitled “We’re having to rebuild and adapt because of coronavirus” they explain the quick and decisive action they have taken, including cuts of £150 million per year to funding research and the reduction of staff numbers by 24% (excluding the Cancer Research UK stores).

A new three-year plan has just been agreed with the Trustees, and they are calling on the government to offer more support to research into cancer prevention and survivorship.
