The Charity Commission has issued an alert to help trustees of international aid charities to improve the safeguarding practices.
It recognises that whilst some good work has been done, there is much more left to so, and focuses on:
- Ongoing issues which harm effective safeguarding and key steps for charities to consider
- Strengthening safeguarding risk prevention and risk management measures
- Improving reporting by local beneficiaries
- Developing management responses including victim and survivor support
and emphasises the fact that effective safeguarding is never ‘complete’.
If this is relevant to you or your Board, please see the full Charity Commission article here.
