Some charities are hesitant to make use of the telephone, mistakenly thinking that the UK GDPR does not allow it. Certainly there are rules around automated calling and in particular sectors, such as insurance, but generally it is still a powerful tool.
The Chartered Institute of Fundraising has published a free guide called ‘A Good Call: Using the telephone for fundraising and supporter care’ after consulting with a number of organisations. It is well researched and offers best practice and common sense for using the telephone for fundraising and supporter care.
It could transform your use of the telephone, or give you the confidence to use it more, and you can download a free PDF copy at https://ciof.org.uk/telephone-fundraising-guide
